Eighth week

Heyy it is time for a new blog!! I'm so sorry for the really late one. It is going crazy here with the elections and stuff...

Happy Halloween Week!!!!

This week it was a real Autumn week... Lot's of rain, cold weather and so many leaves. We did many activities at home this week like, drawing, games and watched movies. We still tried to go out everyday, just to go for a walk. The kids also played with the kids in the street when it was dry and not that cold outside. Also I went to a Halloween store to buy myself a Halloween costume. I went with Francina, a Dutch au pair that I also met on Instagram a while ago.

Gym

Wednesday evening I have met a new girl, Isa an au pair from Brazil that lives in Olney too. We went to the gym together! I really missed doing some real sports. I had a 3 days free pass. We had a fun time and talked a lot and got to know each other. The workout was also nice and she showed me around a little. When I was doing the workout, I really was so excited to join a gym and made already a hole plan what to do, how many times I want to go and how happy I was with the idea. The next day I started a membership with the Onelife gym (a different then were I had my free pass). This gym is opening in Olney in January, so if I want to go nearby, I have to wait a little. But I can already join the Onelife gym in Rockville if I want. This week I didn't went to the gym anymore, because I was very busy and when I wanted to go, in the mornings, Leah asked me to help her out with the kids.

Pumpkin

Friday evening I made nacho's for the family and after Beckie came to carve pumpkins with me! I really wanted to carve pumpkins now that I’m here, it really is an American thing to do for Halloween. The kids started with getting the guts out of the pumpkin and separate the seeds. Leah roast the seeds to eat, those are really good! Friday they kept going with carving there pumpkins. Beckie bought pumpkins for both of us to carve. It was so much fun and I really loved it! It was a little harder then I thought at first, but if you know it it is kinda simple. They turned out to be so cool and cute! I love them. :)

Ocean City!

Saturday morning at 8am we left to go to Ocean City!! At first I picket up Beckie, then Sharon and last Majo (all girls from my LCC group). It was a 3 hour drive to Ocean city, but it was a really fun ride. We listened to international music, from all our internationals. So we listened to Spanish/ Mexican music, South-Africa, Italian and Dutch music. We arrived! We went to the KFC to grap some lunch and took it to the beach. The beach is so big and it has a beautiful broadwalk/boulevard. Ocean City gave me an idea of a little island. The city consists of 1 big street with al little streets and every street has a number as a street name. It was a really pretty day, the sun was out but it was still a little windy, especially at the beach. We ate our lunch, played some music on the ukulele (Sharon brought it with her) and song for Majo because it was her birthday!! After singing we also started dancing and being crazy. Majo learned us to dance the Salsa and Beckie learned us a dance she knew. We also went with our feet in the water. It was great! When we were acting silly and dancing Simone and her boyfriend come to us. Simone is a German girl from my LCC group, she and her boyfriend also booked a room in the same hotel as us so we could have a great Halloween weekend together. We walked over the boulevard and took some pictures together. :) We also went to an arcade at the boulevard. We played 1 game and already got so many tickets! We picket some prices, Majo and I got a bracelet and we picket for everyone a tattoo.

Happy Halloween!!! Saturday it was Halloween and with Halloween also comes a Halloween party!!! We got ready and all put on our costumes. It was so much fun to already put on our costumes. Our plan was to go to Seacret, a populair cafe/bar in Ocean City where they organized a Halloween 'party'. Not a real party of course, but they did something cool for Halloween. But we couldn't get in, because I wasn't 21 and the other 2 girls didn't had a good ID with them... So then we went to plan B! And plan B was also what I had in mind of the Halloween party. We went to get some food and took it to our room. The girls went to the liquor store and bought some drinks. We had a amazing time and so much fun! We played a card game 'Cards against humanity' and dronk some drinks. We danced, again haha. We tried to twerk (yeah I know... haha) and went to the beach at night! It was so cool, the beach was behind our hotel so literally a 2 minutes walk. We enjoyed the view from the full moon and the sea and screamed into nothing. When we got back into the room we made pizza and talked a lot and just chilled. It was a really great night and my first best Halloween!!

Sunday morning Sharon, Simone and I woke up at 6.15am to see the sunrise. It was early, but it was worth it! The view was so beautiful, I enjoyed it so much. Those moments are the best. And!!! We saw dolphins. :o They swim really close to the beach and there where so cute!

After we slept for a little bit more we got ready to leave the hotel. We went to Starbucks to get breakfast and ate it on the boulevard with a view of the beach. We came up with the idea to go to a outlet mall in Delaware (Yaayyy a new State!). So we drove there and went shopping. The mall was pretty and big, we finished our weekend at a American diner. Sharon told us that she did a memorie thing after she had a trip with her host family. You have to tell the others what your favorite part of the trip was, so you can remember the trip and the moments better. It is not only fun to do and to see what the favorite moment is from the other girls, but sometimes they will came up with different moments what you maybe already forgot about. I really loved the idea and we did it. :)

At 8pm we were back home again. The kids were excited to show me there Halloween candy and they told me everything about there weekend. For them Halloween was totally different in comparison with other years. Normally they go trick or treating and they do something in the street like a party. This year Ainsley's cheer gym organize a trunk or treating, where you go trick or treating but then out of a car trunk in stead of a house. They both got so many candy!! And when they got home the neighbor did something for there street. She had a fire in their frond yard and made a cinema for the kids with a Halloween movie. They had a good Halloween, even with covid.

This was my crazy weekend! And my week. See ya next week.

Love,

Naomi
