Twenty-third week

Hellooo! Yes, I’m still alive. The last couple of weeks were crazy and so busy, that's why I didn't had time to write the blogs. I'm sorry. But here they are!! This week it's Valentines Day! <3

This week it was just a normal fun week. I don't exactly know anymore what I did this week, but I know it was a good week.

On Wednesday I went ice skating with Kinga in Rockville, that was really fun! I really love ice skating!! I wish I could do it more. It was kinda raining and hailing, but it was still really fun! I also went to the gym this week again, I only didn't go that often. But I’m still happy I were be able to go a few days!

The kids this week were in school for 100 days!! It's really cute to see that it is a really big deal here when the kids went to school for 100 days. They had a little party, Emmett even had a 100 days glasses and a patch. Ainsley really wanted to bake a cake for the 100 days of school, so we tried haha. It wasn't the prettiest one, but it was a delicious one.

Wednesday the kids have a half day, as usual, so we did some fun things! We went to the open gym, where Ainsley followed her tumbling classes. We just could do whatever we wanted for a hour straight. It was really fun and I tested my skills too hahaha. After the open gym we went to get some lunch at chick-fill-a and we went to Leah's studio to say hi! Her studio is all finished now and it looks amazing! :) Ainsley and I also tested out a treadmill haha. We hanged out there for a little then we went to get a treat, and drove home because Ainsley had cheer practice.

The kids did something really cute this week too! Ainsley opened Google Translate on her laptop and started to translate sentences to Dutch. The sentences were changing from cute and sweet to crazy and silly hahah. We also played in the snow, because it snowed this week again. Also we did some valentines crafts and just being silly.

Weekend

The weekend was really fun again, like always haha. Friday evening I went to Sharon's place and we had a movie night with snacks and a girls movie. We also made a list with all the things we really want to do. Like, weekend trips, big trips, vacations, what kind of food we still have to try (like corn dogs!) and what activities we want to do.

Saturday afternoon we met at Sharon's porch with all the girls to sit next to the fire and make s'mores. We were with Sharon, Alida, Luna, Sarah, Amanda and me, it was so much fun! We even went sledding in Sharon her backyard, because it was snowing again!! It was so much fun! After that I went to Valerie to have a movie night with her too. She was home alone with the kids, because the parents went away for the weekend. I met Valerie's host kids and played some games with them and we eat together. When the kids were in bed we watched a movie, eat ice cream and talked a lot. :)

Sunday! It's Valentines Day! Haha I don't really do something on Valentines, this year I bought something small for my friends. <3 They definitely celebrate it here way bigger then back in The Netherlands. All the stores were filled with Valentines gifts, chocolate, stuffed animals. So cute! On Sunday afternoon we had a Valentines meeting with my LCC group. It was really fun and so nice to see everyone again! Also because there were a lot of new au pairs in the group since the last time I saw the group. We exchanged some chocolates and talked. Now my chocolate collection is filled again.

Beckie came over from all the way out of Pennsylvania to surprise us! She is the sweetest! I missed her so much, I haven't seen her in 3 months.

After the meeting we went to DC with the 4 of us, Sharon, Alida, Beckie and me. It was not the nicest weather to go to DC, but I was happy that it wasn't raining. We showed Alida around for a little. We walked trough the monuments and just enjoyed being in DC. :) We couldn't stay that long, because Beckie had to drive back home for 3 hours. So we got home around diner time.
