Twenty-first week

Hallooooo!

It is your luck week! 2 blogs in 1 day! Wow haha. This week I had a fun week, I didn't do that much but it was still fun.

Course

Last week I started my course, Child Growth and Development. For the au pair program you need to get 6 credits, that's 72 hours of 'school'. You can decide yourself how you want to compleet those credits. You van do it in a college, a weekend class or an au pair class. As long as it is approved by Cultural Care. I was struggling for a long time what I wanted to do. But eventually I choose to do this class. I really hoped I could do my class in person, but unfortunately that's not gonna happen.

The course I’m following now is a 45 hour course where I have class 2 evenings in the week from 6.30pm until 8.30pm over Zoom. The course is about the Early Childhood development, about the development from a child until the age of 8 years old. You learn the milestones of the ages, how the development of a child is going, how to be a kindergarden or elementary school teacher. I think it's very interesting, but it is a lot.

This week I had to read 3 chapters and I have to learn them for Tuesday, because then I have a test already. I also already had an assignment last week, she is moving fast!

I spent my whole Sunday studying and reading the chapters. It was a long time ago that I did so much for school.

Kids

This week it was really cold, so we spend most of the time inside. We played in the basement a lot, played in the bounce house, played hide and seek! Yeah hide and seek! The kids always told me that I was to big and to tall to play hide and seek with them haha, so I prove them wrong. And I hide really good hahaha they really had to try their best to find me.

Emmett asked me this week until when I will stay here. So I told him that I will stay until after Summer. He was so happy when he found out that I still will be here in the summer so we can do all the fun stuff together! He also told his teacher very proudly that I will stay until the summer and he mentioned all the things that we are gonna do in the summer. Like going to the pool, to the beach, play in the backyard with the sprinklers. I am already so excited to do all those things with hem! The is the cutest <3

Weekend

Its weekend again and I was so excited for Saturday!!!! Because!! I went to New Jersey! Yaayay finally a new state and I finally gonna meet up with Roos. Roos is a Dutch au pair in Princeton who I flew with to America. It was a 3 hour drive to Princeton, but it was really fun. I called some friends, listened to music and enjoyed the few. I drove to 4 states when I drove to NJ and back. When I drove to NJ I drove through Baltimore and Delaware and on my way back home I drove to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!

I picked Roos up at her house and we drove to little town where the Princeton University is. We grabbed something to drink and walked around on the campus. The campus is so big! and so beautiful. There were students everywhere and the vibe was just great! When we were walking a Belgium guy started talking to us and he was so happy to hear us talking in Dutch. He asked us if we were talking Dutch and we started talking for a little. He was a student on the Princeton University, really cool!After that we sat down at a bench and talked for a really long time! It was great! After a while, when we were really cold, we walked to the street with some little shops, cafe's and restaurants. The weather was actually really good, the sun was out but it was still chilly. We just walked around, she showed me some places and then we drove around Princeton and went to Albert Einsteins house! Haha you would think its more special, but it wasn't really that special. It was just a normale house.

We grabbed Chipolte for diner and drove to a parking lot to eat it. We stood there for a long time. I was so excited to meet a new au pair and especially a Dutch au pair!! And to see each other after so long! :) She was really fun and we had so much to talk about and she was really sweet. I really hope we can meet soon again and so more stuff!

Sunday it started snowing!!! I didn't go outside at all, oepss.... But I didn't really wanted to and I had to study so much. The kids played in the snow for almost all day haha.

They say that it will snow until Tuesday! Yaayyy

This was my week! Not really that special, exact for New Jersey haha. I’m gonna colour New Jersey on my map, because I didn't do that yet. :)
