Fifteenth week

Hello! (Hallo in Dutch)

I was thinking that I wanted to change my blog a little bit. I’m going to talk more about other subjects, like what are big differents from The Netherlands and Amerika or things I think are nice to know haha. I want to change it a bit, because my weeks with the kids are most of the time pretty the samen. Of course if I do something special with them or something new I will let you know! :)

This week I will talk about the weather, because it was SNOWING this weel!! I was so happy and the kids where so excited!! After school we played in the snow for a really long time! The snow started as little flakes, but they changed fast to bigger ones. Even later the day they were so big! I haven't seen that that much before. We played in the snow when there was only a little snow on the streets, before we knew there was enough snow to go sledding! So we spent a long time at a little hill next to the school with the other kids from the street. When we came inside again to have lunch the snowflakes where so big!! But after that it began to rain... So the next days we had more ice and the snow was more frozen, but still a lot of fun!!! The snow stayed for almost a week! So we could play in it for 2/3 days.

The funniest thing I noticed is that since I’m here, I also talked with my friend about it from back home, that we had a really long Summer, a really good Fall and now a pretty good Winter. :) In The Netherlands they wore a big coat and gloves while I was walking around in a t-shirt and sometimes even shorts! And now we have snow, earlier than in The Netherland. Leah already told me that the weather in Maryland changed so fast, one day it can be 60 degrees Fahrenheit and the other day it can be 30 Fahrenheit.

It is cold, but for me it doesn't really feel that cold. In The Netherlands there is more wind and more rain what it make you feel colder, I think.

Because of it getting colder we stayed more inside and of course we did a lot of fun things! And if you couldn't guess, Emmett and I did a pillow fight pagina hahah!

Weekend

My weekend was fun! I didn't do that much, but it was nice. Saturday afternoon Simone sent a message in the group with the question if we wanted to join her to get a bubble waffle with ice cream thing. OF COURSE I said yes! Hahaha. I already would meet Isa in the afternoon so I asked her if she wanted to come and meet there. So we did. Around 5 we left and went to Alpaca Dessert in Rockville. We met Simone, Aleks, Jimmy and Maria there and all bought the waffle with ice cream! It was so good!! Even that good that the next day I went again, oepsss. We walked around Rockville a little and also watched people on the ice skate rink. It was funny to see people ice skate, definitely when they aren't that good at it. Tomorrow I go to this ice skate rink too, so it was fun to see how it looked like.

Sunday afternoon I picked up Valerie to go Christmas shopping and just having fun! We also went to a college, of course it was empty but it was open so we drove around there to see what it looked like. We even saw a school bus!

Around 5pm we picked up Kimm (a new Dutch girl from my lcc group) and drove to Rockville to go ice skating!!! I'm so excited! I totally forgot how much I like ice skating and that I’m not really that bad in it. :) I was curious if I still could do it, and it was better then I thought! I even learned myself a new trick! We met Georgie there too and ice skated with the four of us! Valerie and Kimm quit quickly, but Georgie and me kept going. When we all were done Valerie got for me and her hot chocolate <3 and later we went to get some dinner and for dessert we went to Alpaca Dessert!!! YAAAAYYY again hahaha. It was a really fun day! We even saw the Santa truck!! That's an fire truck with Santa on top who drives to all Maryland hole month to wave to everybody.

When we drove back home I brought Kimm back home and I gave Valerie a little tour through Olney before I brought her home too.

Take over

This week I did the take over from the Instagram from Cultural Care NL. It was so much fun to do and I hope I helped a lot of other au pairs and gave a fun view from what I think about being an au pair. I also helped myself a little by asking other au pairs more informaties about credits.

This week was so much fun!! See you all next week!

Happy Holidays!!

Big hugs,

Naomi
