Seventeenth week
Hiiii!
This week was great! Ainsley had cheer camp for 3 days, so she was there from 10am until 3pm. I had Emmett alone for the time that Ainsley was at cheer. It was actually really fun to have only Emmett, because I had time to get to know him better too and spent some time with just him. I planned a playdate for him with a classmate. It started to be just for Monday, but we ended up having the playdate for 3 days haha. Emmett was really happy to finally see a 'real' friend.
Emmett goes to Kindergarden, but because of Covid his classes are online and he hasn't seen any of his classmates in real life. That's the reason why he was so happy to finally have a real life friend where he can play with. When the boys where playing with each other I talked to the grandma a lot. We came up with an idea to mail the class mom and ask her to organize or give us the email addresses of all the parents of their class to plan a playdate with all the kids from their class. Like we were thinking about meeting at the playground from the school, everybody lives 5/10 minutes away from the school by foot so that's perfect, to see all the kids in real life for the first time. We are going to try to plan that, I hope it will work!
Happy New Year!!
I hope you all had a happy new year! I did!! I celebrated New Years Eve at Sharons host families house. At 5pm I went to their house. Her host family roasted a pig :o, so we had that for dinner! It isn't really comment to roast a pig if you where asking that. It was the first time for them too. It was scary to see a pig like that, but it was actually pretty good. I thought it was really cool to see how you roast a pig haha. We all dronk a few drinks and we had a lot of fun! After dinner we went to the living room and we started listening to music and dancing a little. Avery, Sharon's host kid, gave us all a really pretty make over haha. They gave us gala dresses that we had to wear and Avery did our make up.
At 12 we watched the ball drop in New York on the laptop, it wasn't that special. I expected more of it. After that we talked before we went to bed. It was really funny to call my family at 6pm, to say happy new year to them already when it took 6 more hours for us until midnight. I called my parents and some friends and I was really happy to see them again and to call them, every year at New Years I call them so even now I could do that. :)
Resolution
A new year with new resolutions. Sharon and me made a list with resolutions for this year. All the things that we want to do or see in one list. And we have to finish it in the end of the year. It was so much fun to think about the things that you would like to finish in the end of the year. One of the things on my list is to visit 5 new states, I hope that is possible soon!
Feelings
I’m not sure how to explain it and what the reason is, but since the Christmas, and New Years period I wasn't that that happy anymore. It's not that I wanted to go home or that I was homesick it was something different. I don't know what, maybe because I really want covid to be over now. I was okay with it for a long time, but now I’m really curious to the covid free au pair life. I really hope I can experience that soon. I don't mind being here during covid, it also have good things. So now that the kids are more home you have more time to spent with them and get to know them. My host kids are amazing, they are so sweet and adorable. I'm just very very curious about an au pair experience when the kids are in school and you can travel more.
I was thinking about it this week and then I got a realization that I’m in AMERICA! It's great and so cool that I’m just here! Not everybody will have that experience and can say that they lived in America. I just have more things on my mind and can't handle everything that well anymore, but we will get through it! And after this all I will feel great, just knowing that I did it!!
Just a little more patience and hopefully we can go back to normale soon.
Big hugs,
Naomi
